THE MYTH GOES ON LIKE THIS -

For Artemis who is associated with Deers (one of her symbols),wounding the pregnant deer was as if she had wounded with an arrow her own skin. The mother deer died while Artemis was trying to heal her wounds.

For the deer baby to survive, Artemis, covered her body
with the dead
deer and using her powers,a baby sprung from Artemis in full body armor.
A girl –

Known to be the virgin among the Gods she had to hide the child and protect it for obviously it had a great power.
A child of a Goddess and an animal.

The baby Girl is sent to the island of Pharos under the protection of Eidothea, the sea nymph and daughter of Proteus.

Readers of FindingEidothea.blogspot, what powers you think the Girl has?

- CALLING THE SEA NYMPH

- THE MOONLIGHT SHADOW.

The hour of the silence
has approached in the break out
of the madness
That made her feel
she is left alone
To solve the enigma
of the last visit

Maybe when the moon
of the 360 silent nights
shall appear bright upon
the Hudson River secret water path
The girl shall find again
The perfume drop of the eternal sorrow
That has never deserted her destiny
And cover her wounded skin

But now for sure
they live the hour of the silence
The oak tree is old
In the garden of the 82 Muses
And the mother Gaia
Is awake shaking her roots
From Haiti to the deep fantasy
World’s deep end

When shall we meet again
My beloved Eidothea?
Arrive as the moonlight shadow
In front of the Wooden door
And let the secret of my myth
be revealed far away
on the other side of the world
to the Blue Mountains of Australia
where my cousin deity is at place -

- FRANCESCA WOODMAN: ALWAYS A ?

It was on a rainy evening few weeks ago that the below photo arrived to the FindingEidothea mail inbox with a note saying : "Maria Garozi & Garia August remind me of this photo"

Looking carefully through the photo I wrote the below poem totally inspired by the presence of the two figures in this room; or could it be one figure in the eyes of the photographer? or could it be the photographer herself?-

-FEET AND HAIR.

The hour passed by slowly
Each second, each minute was ignorant
of what would become to the two figures
who seem so distant
but yet were the exact same propwpopoihshs
in the eyes of her camera -

Feet that remains still
Feet that is scared to walk
outside of the destiny door
A destiny; which is a given mysery

within the imagination of those who think know better
-

Hair that is loose
Hair that is playful
Body and feet that is free
to jump out of the door
and create its own destiny
A destiny; which is an imaginery experiment
To love and hate,
To feel pleasure and feel pain

To live and die
To create and destroy
even if this translates
to creating a new self
till she destroys it-

-A CHILDHOOD FRIEND REENTERING

-
THE MESSAGE FROM VASSILIKH.

The message with the sound
from the knock that was still beating
in the clock of your childhood memory
arrived ten years later to reenter
through the path of my locked heart -

And now that those moments together,
moments of a halloween at school,
moments of you riding your horse proudly
for the woman you would once become,
now that those memories
managed to end the silence
that kept us distant fighters
of the dreams that we once
had together -

Now, how can we communicate
Dear friend of my youth
since You are there;
following another life journey
and I am Still here alone
looking out from the window
like that horse you once had
following the lead of the same
dreams we once made together -

I never stopped believing in You -

The Beginning of a Myth -

Artemis, Goddess of the hunt,
the wild things and the moon

While hunting one day in her statuary
;the island of Elafonisos;
wounded a pregnant deer -

Thats how the myth of Finding Eidothea starts -

From Reality to Myths -

The grey-eyed goddess Athena replied to Zeus:

“O Majesty, O Father of us all,
Kleinthios’ ending is indeed a failure of our will
to still protect the mortals
So is the story of many other men
whose return was not destined to lead
to their own failings

But my own thoughts are with the Girl,
the youngest of all
female traveler of the Greeks
who has made her own offering to the Gods
so long a castaway upon a xenou island
a lonely island in the world’s other side
and there’s a male deity in place;the son of
Evrinthos from Attica;who had been given order
from Lady Hestia to send his son; Christenios in the far away
Land to hide inside the doors of Pylos the wish
of the Goddess whose knees are strong and armored
when hunting and keep a lot in sake.
Christenios will not let the girl go
for he has kept her there as a daughter of his own
He gave her food and work close to the
Marble Sacred Stone Table of Pylos
to turn her mind from returning back to Greece
for he has not revealed to her the secret of the stone
O Zeus what do you think of the girl?
She has shown as all the good will of mortals
Shall we break the curse and send her home?

Mr. Lourelien II

Christian Schad
Two Girls, 1928
private collection

Sandrine arrived at the restaurant for her regular Wednesday night shift.
On her way in, the manager informed her that she had received a letter. She wondered who could have sent her a letter. Both her parents have died in a fatal car accident when she was nine years old in Belgium and since her arrival to the United States she had no communication with the remaining members of her family.

The envelope was white with a blue - red border. Inside there was a postcard from NEUE GALERIE in New York featuring Christian Schad’s Two Girls oil on canvas painting. In the back there was a note with a red marker saying:

I will come pick you up after your shift.
Wait for me in the corner of Laffayette and Bond Street.
Yours,
Charles Lourelien
